AutoBlog has named the 2023 BMW X1 its “driver’s choice” in the subcompact luxury SUV segment.

The size and abundance of tech in the 2023 BMW X1 make it a great all-around choice for anybody’s taste, according to AutoBlog.

In fact, the online blog site gave it an overall score of 8 out of 10.

Among its best features: Fun to drive, great utility, traditional and handsome design, the media outlet wrote.

“This segment is a competitive one, but the X1 sets itself apart as the driver’s car,” wrote AutoBlog Senior Editor Green John Beltz Snyder. “Its nimble handling gives it a leg up, but it doesn’t sacrifice comfort in the meantime.”

He also noted that the evolved kidney grille “looks sharp on the X1’s sculpted nose. This subcompact crossover is attractive inside and out, and the experience only gets better from behind the steering wheel, pointed down a winding back road.”

Meanwhile Car & Driver was similarly effusive, citing the X1’s “solid offering” of standard equipment, roomier than ever, quiet and controlled ride.

“BMW’s entry-level SUV, the X1, has been a favorite of ours for some time thanks to its agile handling, eager nature, and practical shape. The 2023 BMW X1 model has received a complete redesign that looks to be a comprehensive upgrade,” according to Car & Driver.

The magazine also gave a glowing review to the X1’s 241-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine that is paired with standard all-wheel drive and a seven-speed automatic transmission.

“Unlike its main rival, the Mercedes-Benz GLB-class, the X1 remains a two-row SUV, but its slightly larger exterior dimensions have translated to extra space inside the cabin according to BMW. Speaking of the interior, it’s updated with a more modern design and the latest tech features, including the brand’s iDrive 8 infotainment setup,” according to the article.

This versatile Sports Activity Vehicle packs a lot of power and personality in a compact body and includes every design enhancement and convenience feature you could want in order to turn your day-to-day driving – and weekend getaways – into spontaneous adventures.
